El 26 de octubre se realizó la entrega de la Medalla de Oro de la ANQUE, con la que en este año se ha reconocido la labor de D. Carlos Negro, Catedrático de Ingeniería Química de la UCM.
La Medalla fue entregada por el Presidente de la Asamblea Nacional de la ANQUE, D. Leopoldo Martínez, en el transcurso de la cena de la Asamblea.
Catedrático del Departamento de Ingeniería Química de la UCM desde el año 2007 Su investigación se centra principalmente en la optimización de procesos y en la gestión y tratamiento de aguas en la industria. Ha realizado proyectos de investigación en colaboración con las principales empresas del sector y ha colaborado con una extensa relación de centros de investigación y universidades de todo el mundo. Las investigaciones realizadas han supuesto una contribución muy significativa en el área de la producción sostenible de papel reciclado, campo en el que el grupo de investigación goza de un reconocido prestigio a nivel mundial.
Es autor de más de 400 trabajos científico-técnicos que se han publicado como patentes, libros, monografías, artículos en revistas de reconocido prestigio internacional o mediante ponencias en congresos y conferencias en su mayoría de carácter internacional.
En las instituciones nacionales ha ocupado multitud de cargos a lo largo de los años:

Vocal de la Junta Directiva de la Asociación de Químicos de Madrid
Presidente de la Comisión Consultiva Superior de ANQUE, 2006-2008.
Presidente de ANQUE, 2008-2012.
Miembro del Consejo de Redacción de Química e Industria, desde 2008.
Miembro de Honor de la Asociación de Químicos de Murcia 2012, en reconocimiento a su trayectoria personal y apoyo a nuestras instituciones.
Insignia de Oro y Brillante de la Asociación de Químicos de Madrid.
Asambleísta de la ANQUE por Madrid, desde 2013
Premio ANQUE 2014 como reconocimiento a su brillante gestión y dedicación incondicional a esta Asociación.
